I have PowerDVD 17, 18, and 19.

I am able to play HDR videos with any sound format, including atmos, with 17 and 18, but I get no sound when playing HDR videos with PowerDVD 19.

I am using Windows 10 (64-bit), Gigabyte Z370N WIFI, Intel i3-8100 CPU, Denon AVR-X3500H, LG C8 OLED.

Memory is 8 GB.

Sound is set to output "non-decoded high-definition audio to external device."

Intel drivers are all up to date.

For the time being I am using 18, but would like to get 19 working.

cyberlink does not claim any Dolby ATMOS compatibility including non-decoded passthrough in all versions of powerdvd.
You are lucky if you can play it fine in previous powerdvd 17 or 18.

So, is the HDR video file you are playing Dolby ATMOS audio encoded?
If you select other audio streams (non ATMOS one) for the playback, does the audio work in powerdvd 19?

Yes, it is ATMOS encoded.

Currently I have uninstalled PowerDVD 19 so I'll have to re-install and test the other audio streams and report back.

I am enjoying my "luck" of being able to play ATMOS with HDR videos with PowerDVD 18, they look and sound fantastic.

It's a shame Cyberlink doesn't officially offer Dolby ATMOS compatibility, or Dolby Vision.

I can stream Dolby ATMOS/Dolby Vision video easily on Netflix, so I would think Cyberlink would be concerned about not keeping up with the competition in this regard.

Dolby ATMOS and DolbyVision are proprietaries by Dolby Lab.
It's great Netflix has Dolby's licenses to do them.

In addition to technical developemnt, it's a contract between 2 different companies.
Of course, you can blame cyberlink simply.

What is preventing Cyberlink from obtaining licenses from Dolby as Netflix has?

If it is a matter of cost, I for one would be willing to pay a higher price for a version of PowerDVD that would offer ATMOS and Dolby Vision.

You could call it "Super Duper Dolby Ultra." laughing
