As long as both of them remain exactly the same length, you can drag a selection rectangle around them, or click on one then hold down the CTRL key and click on the second one, then right-click and choose Link/Unlink Audio and Video again.

If the two clips are no longer the same length, PD will instead treat them as a group when you re-link them. They will move together as a unit but you won't be able to access the normal editing tools untill you unlink them again.

Thanks for the quick reply but in my case i deleted the audio after it was unlinked. But I like to have it back!!

Well. if you deleted it you can use Undo, and Undo again to reverse the unlink. If you've already closed PD, then you'll have to drag the clip onto the timeline again and start over.

The only thing you did was to unlink and then delete the audio on the timeline clip. No changes were made to the original clip, so putting it back on the timeline means you'll got everything back in place the way it was before you unlinked.

Again thanks for your help optodata, but i messed with the file (split and cut) after i deleted the audio, it would have been very convindent if i could get the orginal audio back again on the parts of the file that remain. I guess its a learning experience. As much as another editing program i use frustrates me, it do allow me to do what I'm asking. I guess theres good points and bad points to everything.

One possible way to do what you want would be to add another copy of the clip that contains the audio to a lower video track, unlink it then delete the video and move the audio up to where you want it on the main timeline. Regards,
