Is there anyway when adding video content to show the folders in the media/library browser? I want to see the hard drive directories not just a bunch of imported media...

I need to organize 1000's of videos, I don't see a way to rename a file, just create an Alias? Understandably this isn't an organizing tool, if that's not possible what program can I cull videos with to determine what to keep, delete it?

Not from within PD. You can remove a clip from the library and even delete it from your drive (both via right-clicking on it in the Media Library), but any name changes have to be done outside the program and with PD closed.
