Blending voice with music in AudioDirector 7

I am having difficulty blending voice with music. I have recorded my voice singing a song with a high-quality microphone. I have imported the instrumental version of the song into AudioDirector 7. When I play them together, it does not sound like my voice is blended with the music--it sounds karaoke-like. Is there a trick to make the voice blend better with the music?
