I just purchased and installed PowerDVD 9 upgrade on my PowerDVD 8 and cannot play an avi file. The application gives me an error: PowerDVD 9 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience” Send error report / don't send report”. This error also shows up when I attempt to play a burned DVD. I have so far uninstalled PowerDVD and reinstalled it. But I get the same error. I am running XP Home and AnyDVD 6.5.7.4.

The Event log gives me the following:

Well If you get tired of waiting for tech saport to figure out whats going wrong go download cccp and play the though Media Player Classic Homecinema and watch them in there for the time being, at least you be able to watch your avi's with a free program while you wait for them to fix some thing that cost you hard earned money money..
