I try to import an mp4 file and i get the message, H.264 video playback is not supported in this version. Please upgrade to get H.264 support along with other great features. I have the Ultra version, so i would think it would support mp4 videos. I can open an AVI video with no problem but id rather use mp4 if there is a way. Also, i can open H.264 files in Powerdirector, which i thought was strange if i can open it there, but not in CD. Is there something else i have to get on the side to help me open mp4 files with CD7?

Some things that would help are the version numbers of CD and PD that you have installed, posting the results of the DxDiag test as detailed in the Read Me post at the top of the forum index, and either a MediaInfo screenshot of the source clip details, or a link to a sample clip that you've uploaded to a cloud sharing service like DropBox or OneDrive.

Im using Powerdirector Ultimate 17 and Colordirector 7 Ultra, but the problem isnt with Powerdirector. With that, it will let me add any H264 video whereas Colordirector Ultra wont let me add any H264 video at all.

I understand, but without specific version numbers, detailed diagnostics from your system and the exact info from your source clips, there isn't enough information to try and figure out what's going on. That's why I asked you to provide those details laughing

EDIT: Please refer to the Read Me sticky post at the top of the CD forum. Steps for how to provide the info I'm looking for are spelled out there

Hello CM120884,

I'm using both the subscription/365 (build 2110) & perpetual (build 3130) versions of CDR7, & neither has any problem importing H.264 video, whether its MP4, M2TS or MKV.

Optodata's advice about specific details is important in resolving your issue.

This post appears to be going in circles. See this sticky: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/24630.page . Try this: Click on the word ColorDirector on the top right of the screen. A window popup with the specific version and build numbers. Do a printscreen of this. Paste it in Paint. Attach it on your next reply. Do the same with your PD17 Ultimate. The experts here will get back to you once they see this information.

I suspect that you are using the trial version of ColorDirector and not know it. That is why you need to give them the right information asked.
