I am new at using PowerDirector 7 and would like some tips on how to:

1. Create a Title Page with just a plain basic black background? (I want to create a title for my movie).

2. Create a scrolling end credits.

Thanks!

Hi Lucy,

Black Background
Use a black colour board as your background.
Choose colour boards in the main library and drag your colour choice down to the timeline position, expand the duration to your choice.

Scrolling titles/end credits
Have a look at the tutorials here:

Thanks, Adrian.

Now I that I think I got that figured out... I encountered another issue.

I tried to produce my video but came up with more questions:

1. Which kind of file should I create my movie under? I am trying to just burn my video in a DVD that would play in a regular DVD player... Does it matter if it is an AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, etc?

2. The PowerDirector program "encountered a problem and had to close" after my initial attempt to "produce". Does that mean that I have to reproduce again? It took an hour to complete the first time just before the program closed so I'd hate to waste the time again to reproduce if the initial production was already done (meaning, when I reopen the program, can I just directly go to "Create a Disk"?)

Thanks again for your help.

I would like to get a black background and the option to type some titles on it. Very simple. I don't see a "library" as mentioned above. It seems to me the closest thing to what I am looking for is (under "create a new template") where I can click to modify the background (the default seems to be a bunch of polka dots). When I click to modify the background, a box with a red X pops into a screen and there seems to be no further choices.

Hi D

Welcome to the forum

Here's two PD instruction videos from PDToots from Youtube. They are using PD8 in this tutorial but the basics are the same for PD7.

The Part 2 video at the 1 minute mark shows how to add Colour Boards
