MP4 Audio Skipping

PowerDVD 18 Ultra v 18.0.1815.62
WIndows 10

With every MP4 file I play, the following occurs:

  • At playback time of 6 seconds, it skips what appears to be the 7th second of music, then continues

  • If I then pause, restart from the beginning, it plays perfectly with no skip

  • If I stop the play back and restart, it skips at the same place

This is amazingly consistent, with every MP4 file and at exactly the same playbasck point.

The same MP4 files played with Windows Media Player, VLC, MusicBee, Foobar all play perfectly.
PowerDVD plays WAV and MP3 files perfectly.

Also, while the Equalizer is availalable for all other file types, it is not for MP4 files.

Any helpmuch appreciated!

MP4 is just a container that can be encoded with various video/audio codec content.

Do all of your MP4 files apply same audio codec?
If yes, what audio codec your video file applied?

Per my own test, equalizer feature is for music playback, but not for video files in powerdvd.

Thanks for the reply.

When played with VLC, reports the following for MP4:

Sream 0
-Codec: H264 MPEG-4 (part 10) (avc 1)
stream 1
-Codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)
-Sample rate: 44100 Hz
-Bits per sample: 32

MP4a reports:
Stream 0
-MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)
-Sample rate: 44100 Hz
-Bits per sample: 32
