Annoying Green Line using Chroma Key!!!

Hi,
Been having this problem for some time now over various projects. When I use the Chroma Key effect, whether it's something I've filmed myself or footage from elsewhere with high-quality green screen backgrounds, I'm often left with a very annoying green line at the right-hand side of my footage. It appears on most 'preview qualities' and on the Produced video too.

You can see it on the character, which is actually from the edge of the footage on the left.

The only workaround I have is to resize each clip until it goes away, but it can take a couple of minutes of trial and error, then I produce the video and it reappears! It's as if the chroma key hasn't quite reached the edge of the footage. Please help!

Thanks,
Glenn

It looks as if that line marks the edge of your overlay, if so then no particular mystery there. Have you experimented with the tolerance sliders in Chromakeying (hue, saturation and luminance)? You also appear to have some fringeing round the hand which you should be able to get rid of by the same means.

Yep, the Luminance slider seems to be the only thing that has any particular effect. I have adjusted to it to the maximum that it can be without lowering the quality of the footage (i.e. it starting to fade.) but it still appears. The only other workaround that I've found, after I posted on here, is to apply a mask to the edge and that seems to work, but it seems like I shouldn't have that issue in the first place!

How can I get rid of the little bits around the hand? I've tried choosing different sections of green and adjusting the sliders but it won't get rid of it. I've always thought that PowerDirector's Chroma Key has never been that great, especially when I see other people's, but it could just be something that I'm not doing!

Thanks for your response!

The only other thing I can add is to take a close look at how evenly you have lit your green background. How many light sources are you using and are they well balanced. Further than that I can't think of anything else I'm afraid.

Thanks. I'm not doing it professionally so the lighting isn't great, but it's more the line at the side that is really annoying, even when I use high-quality stock footage it appears. Thanks for your responses though.
