Whatever format you choose, PD will need to re-encode the video.

Hi Tony

Thanks for reply and shortcuts to the PD tutorials. I understand the ‘how to create disc’ however my storyboard has multi-media formats AVCHD, MPEG2 HD, JPEG and MP3 files, therefore which preferences would I select prior to burning:

Disc format: AVCHD?

Video quality: 1920x1080?

Or

Disc format: DVD?

Video Quality: HQ?

I’m looking for the best quality DVD (as I’m using AVCHD 1920x1080) but I do not want to compromise the final DVD with other media file formats that may ‘interfere’ with the final burn.

DVD HQ is probably your best option unless you're going the BlueRay way... and it doesn't sound as if you are.

Tony is spot on here. Your final output determines the file format you will render to. PD will accept pretty much any media format in the timeline and perform the necessary conversions to the target output format. Q9300 2.5 GHz

In PD8 multi layered DVD can be created.
Source of the video layers can be the Time-line itself with additional sources added . These sources include pds and finished video with all three having different chapter points added and recourse back to each (Edit) and accessed from menu > sub-menus > chapters.

I hope I explained that clearly enough - not sure I have.

Hi Dafydd, I think in this case a picture speaks a thousand words. From what your saying it sounds like we have more freedom in the navigation from one chapter to another, but it's not clear how this is done. This might be a good topic for a tutorial when your or someone else has time to make one. Q9300 2.5 GHz
