I have a blurry video which could benefit from some sharpening so im wondering which method would give me the best results. Would it be best to use the Sharpness option in the Color Adjustment section or to use the NewBlue Sharpen in the Effects section? They probably would both produce about the same results i imagine. Also, what number would be best to set the sharpness at without overdoing it?

It depends on your source footage, the target and your personal preferences.
So do it! You can split your footage into pieces, sharpen the parts with different settings/plugins and produce them as a range. So you don't need to produce the whole clip time consuming.
