MediaShow expresso for ntsc format.

I process my videos in NTSC even though I am in a country, Australia, that uses PAL. I use NTSC for the 30fps which is the same as my camera and AI want the extra fps, plus my computer doesn't care if it is PAL or NTSC.

My question is how can I get MediaShow Express to render my videos in NTSC format 30fps and not PAL 25fps? I know it is rendering it to PAL because when I drop the video onto the video track in PowerDirector it tells me that I am trying to use a PAL video when my settings are for NTSC.

Thanks

Hi Robert

Change the system locale on your PC to USA restart your PC and then reopen Esspresso then you will see 30fps and NTSC frame sizes on offer

Hope this helps

Thanks for the help Dave but I did as you suggested, processed a video and still got the message in PD that I was importing a PAL video.

One thing though there is no where in my copy of MediaShow Expresso where it shows or gives you the option to choose NTSC or PAL.

I did read somewhere else on the board that the download link takes a note of your countries IP address and gives you access to either the NTSC version or PAL version. If this is right and there is no where in the program to choose what format to export at it is a bit of a waste for me. I don't know if that is correct it seems a bit of an overkill to produce two different versions of the same program. My youtube channel====> http://www.youtube.com/user/relate2?feature=mhsn

Hi

I am still getting to grips with all this digital video stuff

But I thought that PAL / NTSO was onr of the same thing as there is now colour coding in the digital domain like there is on a analog system

Why not try the output files in the US format and see what the NTSC payer system makes of them

Just make sure the files are 30fps and US frame sizes

Hope this helps

Heh, I have the opposite problem and all my videos get output at 30fps, and indeed there's no way to change that. I'm in Australia too. I downloaded from the US and UK sites and both downloads act the same way.

Peter, do they still come out at 30fps when you choose pal under edit/preferences/general and again choose pal when you render to H.264? I don't see an option to choose pal if you render in .wmv format.

There are no options in the Espresso version to set PAL as the video type. In another thread it has been suggested that Windows region settings are used by the program, but mine are correct (Australia) but I still get NTSC output. Hey ho, funny things, computers.

You're not wrong Peter, sometimes I think a computer says to itself "Ha Ha how can I screw him up today." My youtube channel====> http://www.youtube.com/user/relate2?feature=mhsn
