Installation of PD 8 Error 1344

I trying to upgrade to PD 8 from PD 7. All files downloaded after purchase, but installation has not be achieved. Upon running the install file for PD 8, the program noted that is detected another version of PD on my system and asked if I wanted it remove. I reply in the affirmative. The uninstall of PD 7 hung. Tried to uninstall the PD 7 from windows program uninstall. It was unsuccessful. Used a previously provided procedure for manual uninstall for PD 7. PD 7 is uninstalled. Re-run install program for PD 8 and part way through the install I receive a message -- "Error 1344 The file _7D0119871cc37421c4f87ea08f166 cannot be installed because file cannot be found in cabinet file Date1.cab"

Any suggestions?

Did you reboot after you uninstalled?

I had a little trouble. Went through the registry and vaporized any KEYS that were cyberlink or powerdirector, rebooted, and PD8 then installed OK. Win8 64-bit Pro Retail
Intel i7-4770
16GB DDR3 1600 8-8-8-24
MSI Z87-G45 Motherboard
ASUS GTX 660 Direct CU II OC 2GB GPU
1 TB RAID 1 (mirrored) Drive Array
Several scratch drives for video, TMP, pagefile.

Yes, I did a restart. I searched the regedit for the keys provided in the instruction for manual uninstalled. There appears to be only one key which is {CB099890-1D5F-11D5-9EA9-0050BAE317E1}. However, this key appears in multiple places in the registry. Searching found several and I removed all off them. Did I remove too many entries in the registry? Thanks for you response.

Hi,

I've got just the same error as Kuroshio and can not install my PD8.
Have sendt my second mail to CL support service.

In the meanwhile: Did you manage to solve your problem?
If yes; was it an solution that others can use?
