ATI 4770 no GPU encoding possible?

I've purchased an Asus ATI 4770 card, installed new 9.7 catalyst and Ati video encoder. So from the catalyst menu i can use ATI Avivo encoder, works as should.

But when i try with power director 7 test version the checkbox GPU hardware video encoder is grayed out.
Should it work with this card?

thx

ps: Quad 6600, ATI 4770,Windows 7RC 64bit

Hi Bernd,

Though this certainly not my area of expertise, here is a link to a page that contains a list of ATI cards supported by PD7.

http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector/ati-optimization_en_US.html

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will chime in if this list has been updated. Click here PDtoots for a collection of PowerDirector Tutorials and Tips

Is the problem that under preferences that you can not select the GPU acceleration option or that it is checked, but can not select it when producing your video?

Also, your video card model is not listed on the compatibility chart. Maybe PD has not updated the support list internally within the program. Q9300 2.5 GHz

Nvidia 9800 GT

Hi James

Yes its not selectable under Preferences, but what i read that`s only for CUDA functionality

Yes its also not selectable while producing under " activate video hardware encoder" (German Version)

Yes my card is not listed, but i tested functionality with catalyst video encoding with the exact same file and that works.

So i have to wait with buying for a new PD revision ?

I had a similar problem with my nVIDIA card until I installed the latest drivers. That's all I can suggest. Other than that you may have to contact technical support. Q9300 2.5 GHz

I can't help with your issue, but have seen quite a few complaints about 4770 ATI driver problems.

Did you install the updated AVIVO when you put 9.7 drivers on? Win8 64-bit Pro Retail

Hi OnTheWeb

yep i both downloaded 9.7 and Avivo Package the same time and installed 9.7, then Avivo and in the driver integrated encoder it works so i assume it´s more like a config thing that 4770 is not seen as "possible" in the PD.
