Same exact behavior after I was forced to upgrade to 7.3 (ultra)
Hitting play on any Blue Ray I insert results in PowerDVD closing. No error, no crash report. Just closes.

I get the same thing. It crashes right after I open it if I don't keep clicking somewhere in the program window. What could be wrong? I've already reinstalled it with all my video drivers updateed also.

Same problem here folks. In fact, when I launch PowerDVD 9 Ultra it takes forever to do anything and I get a Windows alert that PowerDVD just had a "fatal" crash. I've been opening up tickets with Cyberlink since the beginning of the year and they have yet to resolve my problem. So, I had to go back and reinstall Power DVD 8 so that I could watch movies on my pc. So frustrating.

Same problem since upgrading to PowerDVD 9 Ultra it sometimes takes forever as well. Then will almost always close within a few seconds of playing with no message or warning. However 2nd time it is launched it plays ok. Dell Studio XPS 9100
