Any simple instructions on how to USE PD7???

How can I get some simple instructions on how to actually USE PD7? I've downloaded the "User Manual", but it only tells you what you can DO-not HOW to do it-very frustrating for a newbie. Do I have to look for a "Manual that wasn't in the box"? Without instructions I will not buy this product-am only trying it out now.

Ha,

Look at the stickies at the top of the page:
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/forums/show/52.page

PD7 - image/tip guide resource for video editors

PD7 - VIDEO guide resource for video editors

Also take a look at:
http://seemyworldonvideo.com/pages/extras-news-items.html
all three links. You'll need to join but you'll find loads of extras for PD editors.

Hope all these are what you're looking for.

Hi David,

Yeah, I found the same problem when I started with the program.

I suppose I could say that I've since found that it's quite difficult to say how to do things when you have a program that allows you to do many things - there's often several ways to do the 'same thing'

My personal approach is to 'guess' what I want to do with a video and then see if I can actually do it. That usually means trying it and then asking the nice guys and girls here - if, why, how etc.

Most of the basic functions are already explained in the video tutorials etc but most folks here are willing to help out with specific issues.

Cheers
Adrian

Hi David,

PD is actually one of those programs where many people can start the software and with a few hours of playing around can figure out a lot of the features. My suggestion would be to start there and just experimenting. Upload a few of your pictures or video files and play around with the transitions and effects. A lot of the more advanced features you will learn to use as you become more familiar with the software. After some time getting familiar with the layout I would watch some of the tutorials which were mentioned earlier. One tutorial I would definitely watch would be the one on menu creation. There is always a lot of confusion about how to do this in PD. If you click on the search icon on the top of this page you can also search about this and other features.

When I first started using this package, I found that poking around in these forums and checking out the tutorial videos were the best way to understand how to do things. Like most manuals, PD is only basic.
