Hi,

I am new to powerdirector 7 ultimate. I was trying to use magic movie but it only seems to work for 2 themes, pets and baby. When I select another theme it hangs after analysis of the video, and the only way to continue is to quit the application. Is this normal? Any suggestions would much appreciated.

I only have PD7 Deluxe, but I guess the same applies.

Even though I'd never used it before, I just applied each of the templates to a small group of clips... I wasn't able to replicate your issue, so I cannot really advise you.

Enough to say that it is not a general software issue, but something particular to your case.

Sorry I couldn't really help.

Cheers -

Tony

Tony, thank you for the information. It may well be something in my system that causes some of the magic movie templates to hang.

Dafydd, the version number I show is 7.0.2726 and the SR number is VDE080909-01.

Thanks,
William

Thanks Dafydd for the info. I tried the patch and the behavior is the same.

My guess is that my problem is related to a video codec as the two movie themes that work do not have .wmv files in the associated styles folder. (Any of the movie styles with .wmv files do not work.)

I will try the program on another computer this weekend to trouble shoot further.

It wouldn't hurt to put FFDshow codecs on your system.

You can find it here and a lot of useful video editing progs"

Hi, I did some further testing including installing PD7 different builds.

What I found is that if I disable windows aero then all the magic movie templates work as they should.

I will post again if I figure out further details.

Thanks,
William

I updated the program to build 3017 and the issue went away. It is now possible to use all the magic movie modes without disabling the vista aero interface. :
