The Magic buttons available will depend on the item which is selected on your timeline. The only one which is always highlighted is the Magic Movie Wizard. The others look to be grayed out but if they appear on the left under the top hat they should work.

Try dragging the sample clip and images to the timeline and then select first the video, then one of the stills, and see which of your magic options are available each time.
