Chapter Buttons

I have just updated to PowerDirector 7 build 2726.

When I select a chapter button in the menu the related video track plays - great!!

However, when the track is completed it continues to play the other tracks on the video.

I would have thought that on completion of the selected track that it would return to the "Chapter Menu"?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am assuming you're talking about what happens after the disc is burned... yes?

Are you really surprised at this? That's how most DVD's behave. When you click on a chapter/scene, you're just choosing a beginning point from which to play. Try it on any commercially produced DVD.

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree - I quite often am!!!

Hi Allister,

this criticism has been noted many times and is a matter of preference. What you refer to is the ability really to use the chapter function as a menu for multiple titles and I have wanted this as well. Chapters really are just points in the video to jump to quickly and not really to be played as a separate "titles".
Remember also that PD is not a complete authoring programme - it just offers a simple authoring module to make an all-in-one package.

Don't know if comparison with other products is permitted here. Nero Vision 4 has an option to return to menu after playing a chapter.
