How do you create modern titles?

Hello,

what program do you use to create modern titles like this:

Im thinking about to buy this title pack because in Powerdirector you cant make something like this.

The Powerdirector title designer is very weak to make a modern title. Also the titles which you cant download on directorzone are looking like 10 years old.

May Cyberlink spend more time in the next version of Powerdirector to improve the title designer. In this version the designer is useless.

Regards, Bart!

I've had similar issues/questions in the past, here's the thread I posted recently: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/65280.page

The Blender titles look great, how can we use them in PD?

Titler Pro within PD works nicely, but yes, many titles on the D-zone are utter garbage, people will upload ANYTHING.
Without ever trying Blender, I suggest creating a title sequence in it and use a green screen backer, then key it out in PD.

The Titler Pro add-on is dated, but it will help you create much better titles without an additonal cost. You will find some tutorial lessons here.

Hello,

Have you tried New Blue 4, 5 +. The basic New Blue titler 1+ is "cheesy" to say the least... .

Jim, thanks for the link but the tutorials are fairly basic. Unless I'm mistaken there's not much out there for a guide on how to create more animated titles that unmask etc as per the sample video?

You are absoulutely right. The older versions of Titler Pro can't do what you are looking for.

Hi Bart (oluja) -

The obvious answer to your original question is Blender! Blender is dedicated animation software, so it's probably not fair to expect PDR (which isn't) to be able to do the same/similar sorts of things. So Barry's suggestion of building the animation in Blender & importing that into PDR seems like the way to go.

Title Designer is, by comparison, very basic. Images, for example, can do nothing more than fade in & out... so you can't animate lines & shapes as Blender can. To a point, similar sorts of things can be achieved in PiP Designer with a bit of effort. Blender requires effort too!

Still - you can create "modern" titles in Title Designer, depending on your interpretation of "modern". A while back, I made this title template in PDR. It has the same clean look as some of the examples in that Blender video.

Comments about DirectorZone templates not meeting needs are fair... but then, DirectorZone isn't populated with graphic designers!

Cheers - Tony
