I have bought the last two versions of PowerDVD those being PowerDVD16 and PowerDVD17. I am running Windows 10 Version 1709 I guess called Fall Creator Update 64bit. I am just giving a bit of info hoping for some help. I also own PowerDVD15 and my pc came originally with Powerdvd14. I can install powerdvd 14 and 15 and they work fine. The program opens as it should. However when I install 16 or 17 can click on the icon or go into the program folder and click on the launcher. NOTHING HAPPENS.... I have tried uninstalling, re-installing, doing a clean windows install NOTHING seems to work. I feel stupid that after I had this issue with PowerDVD16 I believed that Cyberlink would have fixed it in PowerDVD17 so I went ahead and bought PowerDVD17 so now I have 2 programs that I bought through the cyberlink website and I cannot use either of them..... WTF am I stupid or just a sucker for a company that my father believed could be trusted. Anyone at cyberlink or this forum have any ideas how to make these programs work????

Hey Phil,
Thanks for your responce. No not running Avast anti-virus, just the basic Windows Defender. I have tried all your other suggestions and none of those seem to be working either. I have no integrity violations. I find it funny that I can run PowerDVD version 15 with no issues at all but 16 and 17 I cannot make work. Its frustrating, my dad prior to his suicide was a huge fan of cyberlink so when I got to choose what program I wanted for Christmas from my foster family I asked for Powerdvd17 what a mistake. My dad said cyberlink was a company that released quality products well powerdvd16 and 17 are not quality I have heard others have the same issues as I am having and cyberlink has done nothing to fix it. I opened a ticket with tech support back in February never got a responce.. Go Figure, maybe I should start using ROXIO or something other than Cyberlink. I am only one customer but dang it I have been loyal.
Thanks Again
Alex D

Just some guesses.

Is your anti-virus Avast? The reason that I ask is that I recently worked on what was thought to be an malware-infected computer and it turned out that Avast had crippled three Cyberlink products: PowerDVD, Power2Go, and Power Director.

Even though you did a clean install of Windows, did you run a System File Checker (SFC) scan?

If that comes back clean: "no resource integrity violations found", then I would open a ticket with Cyberlink Technical Support.

I hope this helps. Have a great day.
