PD 16 no sound on clips created using IOS 11 screen recording function
[Post New]
I have an iphone 6 and created some mp4 files of my screen using the built in screen recording function of IOS 11. I know that the files actually have sound because I can play them on my windows pc using the "movies & tv" app. When I import them into powerdirector and pull up the audio properties of the file it says:
Type: AAC
Sampling rate: 44khz
bitrate: 128kbps
Channel: Stereo

For whatever reason, when I try to play the file, I see the video but don't hear anything. The audio track just shows a straight blue line with no spikes in it.

For ther videos recorded using a DJI Mavic Pro and panasonic camera, the audio plays just fine with power director so it's not an overall audio problem.

Anybody have any idea what the issue is??

I found the solution. Apparently there is a known issue with the audio when trying to use video editors. It impacts more than one video editor including PowerDirector. You have to transcode the video using another app before importing into powerdirector.

This is the video that led me to the solution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aokHl-VS14s

And here is the app that you can use to fix the issue before loading it into powerdirector: Image Roate & Flip - RFV https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rotate-flip-video-rfv/id1038299582?mt=8
