Hi all... : I'm giving the trial version of Power Director 16 a go for creating youtube "how I work" videos. My camera is a small gopro that creates MP$ files. I can't import them into the trial PD. Is this because it is a trial version or are there issues with MP$ files formats?

Thank you so much...!

Dont panic, FB

I suspect your GoPro files are 2 or 4K. The trial version doesn't support those files. However, they are well supported in the full version.

Ok I'll try not to panic... laughing I'm an illustrator, not at all a video expert, so I'm not sure what the 2 or 4k are, but you say they are well supported in the paid version? If I can be sure that PowerDirector will let me edit those files, I'll happily purchase the software.

Thank you immensely for the help! smile

OK, that's classed as 2k. So you should be ok to proceed with full version.

More correctly the video is classed as 2.7k resolution. One other point. You will have to create a custom profile when it comes to production. It's dead easy, so nothing to worry about Panny TM10, GH2, GH4,

So I went ahead and purchased the full program (slightly nervous, still) and all worked out well. No issues whatsoever - aside from the fact that I must simply learn how to do this "video" thing. But it looks very doable! Power Director had no problems at all with the MP4 file format. Not only that, the rendering time was way faster than the other program I'd tried previously, and PD did not freeze all the time.

I'm a happy camper.
