External Microphone

Using a SurfacePro ISO Windows 10
In YouCam video mode I want to connect an external USB microphone.
The USB microphone is "seen" in Device Manager and operates in Voice Recorder but does not operate in YouCam
YouCam only seems to operate from the internal SurfacePro microphone.
Does YouCam only operate from the internal microphone?
Is it possible to adjust settings so that YouCam records from the external USB microphone and how is this accomplished?

I'm using a Logitech webcam and it comes with an embeded microphne, which is the only one microphoe I have in my desktop PC.
I always use it in youcam, and of course it's a usb microphone, so i'm not sure what's the problem you enconuterd.

what's your "external USB microphone"?
