Using PD13 "Cinematic" DVD menu template, First Play Video, sizing? seperate video?

Hi, The Cinematic template auto pics a few snips from the 1 hour plus menu to display on root menu.

Two issues it only shows inner 2/3s of video so choping off text etc on the template and it is not the best video for menu.

Do see a "First Play Video" which to right has "Set first play video" icon. It defaults to the whole movie it seems. So Can I taken betetr clips edit them together and size them down so only inner 2/3s of screen, produce new video then have menu use that video instead of the movie? Hope so.

AND the whole full length movie created to sell as DVD, plays as DVD full screen on my 50" 16:9 TV 100% of screen sorta like that. But in two scenes ity is cuting off a little text on edges. Is there an easy way to reduce entire video by a couple of percent automactically to prevent edge loss on DVD write?

If figure out DVD template thing above will post results but having never used it hope someone will post useful info here. One more thing can you control where PD13 starts and stops taking snips from for menu preview video, instead of rolling the dice and hoping it times it right?

First Play is seperate from the autoseleted video shown later. And it is full screen. Fortunately in that YouTube he used the same template.

Think am figuring out one issue. I can not alter teh text color and some other things. In video another template has "modify template" button they demo.

Cinemactic has "modify" grayed out. Any thought how I can change text color on menu? At top of screen it has font and size but no color.

BTW it is set to Smart Fit, now recall that. So it should be sizing the DVD correctly to use all the disk? Image attached of screen shot.

EDIT: Whoops meant to post this on DVD partial use of disc thread, will copy it over there.

On the issue of the "Cinemactic" DVD menu template I have put a seperate video on the front, but the section that follows with the template and music and scrolling video picks video randowmly and poorly. Is there anyway to tell the template what video from main movie to use?

There should be. Am desperate to put the parts of movie I want into motion menu. Even rolling the dice again would be worth a try, but can find no way to control the video the template selects.

Tomasc, Thanks!! The link above says to play it in "Content", then stop video and set that farme as thumbnail start.

It worked poorly in terms it did not use the frame stopped on. But the frame it did pick and slomo video was much better than prior ones.

Thanks again. Would have never found it.
