PD16 and Cineform 5.2K 360 degree source

I am using a GoPro Fusion 360 degree camera with PowerDirector 16. As long at I import 4K or lower resolution H.264 files, PD16 is able to fully manupilate and produce final video. However, the camera has a max resolution of 5.2K which is rendered by Fusion Studio after stitching only a Cineform (H.265). This is recognized only as audio by PD16.
Is there any workaround to this?
Can PD16 be made to import H.265 5.2K 360 video? Can PD16 Produce H.265 in greater than 4K resolution?
Thanks!

I'm having the same issue and would love an answer as well!

HI,

If you look here for the PDR16 spec

https://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector-ultra/spec_en_US.html

the key bit is:

"360 Video: Equirectangular format MP4 (H.264). Supports up to 4K resolution in 2:1 aspect ratio."

I'm not sure of the policy on upgrades to newer file formats in between versions, but perhaps it will be available in a later full patch version of PDR16, although I think it more likely that such upgrades will wait until PDR17 is released.

Cheers

Thanks, will see if a subsequent patch or PD17 adds this capability.

Any updates on this? It would be nice to be able to edit a full resolution GoPro Fusion 360 video. Only option now is to go to Adobe Premiere Pro.

That last statement isn't actually true, for many reasons. Please see this post and this one for more info on using PD.
