I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but I tried to record the screen while playing a Blu ray Disk.

To my understanding Screen recorders capture everything that is showing on the screen.

No problems with the sound, but NO VIDEO.

Is there an issue with the program setting, or is the Screen recorder not designed for that purpose.

Blu-ray movie is intellectual properties protected content, it will not allow "capturing" unless you do some unauthorized operations to crack the movie disc. powerdvd won't do that for you.

That is correct, screen recording is forbidden. Not even simple screenshots are allowed (last time I tried with PDVD13 and I do not think anything changed since then). .
