Robert, from what you are telling me, the splitter is not part of PD7. If it doesn't belong to PD7, then I wouldn't know how it got on my machine. I'll research this and get back with you all to prevent this from happening to another user.

We might be on to something here and I hope I can fix this soon.

While I'm waiting for tech support, how do I find and uninstall Haali?
I've done a search on C: and nothing.

Haali is usually installed as part of something else, like a codec pack. It can be notoriously difficult to uninstall. A google search will give you some leads. You will note that some people curse it and some think it's wonderful so....

It might also be under a matroska heading.

You might guess that I've finally, with the help of you fine folks solved my dilemma.

Here is what I did so someone else with the same problem can try this.

1. Search C: and type in "MatroskaSplitter"
Result: [u]MatroskaSplitter[u] C:\Windows\System32
That will tell you that you have the file on your computer.

2. Control panel>Add/Remove>Media Player Codec Pack 3.3.1

3. Click on Change/Remove

4. Choose Custom uninstall and deselect all and find Haali and delete it from the program. I didn't want to delete the entire file for fear that it could affect something else.

5. Restart Windozs

PD7 loads in lightning speed and the movie is flawless.

A quick suggestion, I work with PD7 and Pinnacle Studio and I have seen both programs cough at a non standard file like a badly encoded Divx or Xvid file it is possible it may be a corrupted video file try recapturing the file if you can!
