Hi,
i update my PowerDVD 7 (coming with LG-BD-Drive) to PowerDVD9Ultra.
When i start playing a Blu Ray Disc, it shows an error:
DVD-Error
Error Code 80040154
Internal Error
The Error code is not defined
(translated from german)

the error is reproduceable.
the german hotline says:
deinstall powerdvd and reinstall it.

but it does not help.

i did a fresh install of vista ultimate german 32bit
dual core - 2 GB RAM
installed SP1
all MS-Updates
actually driver for my gfx card
/ATI Radeon HD 4670- Catalyst Driver Vesion 9.2
installed PowerDVD9 Ultra without any problems or error messages.
but the problem is still there.

with version 7 of powerdvd all bluray discs are playing.

my test-disc is "casino royal" - all regions.

very sad about this problem.
giving so much money for "nothing" ((
i hoped to get this new home theatre features...

can you help me?
Cheers
Timo

Try rolling back your graphics driver, you may have to go back a few versions before getting one that works

Hello,

Which audio card are you using ?
Probably check the audio card driver.

its a "Club3D - Theatron Agrippa"
i tried to deactivate the driver ... but still the same error ...

I've found some google-entries like:
"RGBOverlay not supported by the grafic card"
and
"DLLs not registered"
but nothing that helps me ... anybody else with this error??

Hi,
i do have the same problem. My BluRay-Drive is also from LG.

Testdisk is Casino Royale. Sorry, but do not have another one...

My Videocard is ATI HD4350. Driverversion 9.2.
Soundcard is ASUS XONAR HDAV 1.3. Latest Driverversion 6.12.8.1757

PowerDVD 7.3 plays everything I want.

I need PowerDVD 9, cause it so nicely integrated into the Vista MediaCenter

Hi Darren,

can you tell us, which BluRay-Drive you currently using??
Maybe the Error results of using the LG BD-Drive.

I don't think it is the ATI-Graphicscard...

If you are on Vista and get the region code selection pop up over and over again, you need to run PowerDVD as an administrator.

I don't know how Cyberlink managed to screw up something as basic as this but I can't play any blu-ray discs unless I run PowerDVD as administrator.

Sorry Timo, but in this case it didn't solve it...

I was local Administrator, UAC was off and i ran PowerDVD explicit as Administrator but the PopUp came back again.

i can avoid the Popup when using AnyDVD HD, but the error 80040154 is not fixed...

Do you have installed the latest Update build 1531? Its fixed since build 1530...

1531 appears to be a build number for PowerDVD 9 Ultra, whereas I have PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra. All the updates for my version on the website appear to be older than the one I was automatically pointed to when I firsted lauched PowerDVD.
