Menu does not stay on-when watching on TV
[Post New]
I put four video clips on a menu and all shows well in the preview.

When I insert the dvd in my player the TV shows the menu only for 5 seconds or so and it starts playing the video automatically.

What do I need to do to have the Menu stay and also after each video to return to the menu?

Thanks for any help. ;

Look in DVD Preferences and change your auto run setting.
PD does NOT return to menu on each chapter.

Thank you for the reply. I am willing to purchase version 7 do you know if it is capable of doing this?

I like to put multiple short movies on a dvd but after each one is watched, I like it to return to the menu, if possible.

Thanks

Power Director 7 does not have a "return to menu" capability.

Quote: My problem is my completed project when played on my DVD player immediately plays the finished movie, which is OK, but it kind of makes all the authoring work, making nice menus etc., a complete waste of time!

Dafydd stated "Look in DVD Preferences and change your auto run setting". Where are the DVD settings exactly? All I can find are "Create Disc preferences" which include 'Enable video thumbnail' and 'Auto Menu Timeout'. I can't seem to find the DVD preferences which include the 'Auto run' settings?

Help anyone?

Apologies, don't know why I was considered anonymous as I signed up previously. I'll just repeat the question for reference.

I just previewed this message and I still don't see my name previewed... hmmm. There is a 'logout' option available so I am assuming that I am logged in.

That's what you want.

If the “Auto menu time-out” checkbox is unchecked, the menu will stay on the screen until you choose one of the options, i.e. Play or Chapters (or Sub-titles if you are using them).

If the “Auto menu time-out” checkbox is checked, then the menu will remain on screen for the number of seconds you entered into the “User-defined motion menu duration” (which must be between 15 and 99 seconds – the default is 15 seconds) and will then start to play Chapter 1, unless you choose one of the options before that time limit is reached.
