my brand new computer (quad core, vista) came pre installed with this power director 6. I was using it to edit images I captured with the pre installed capture card.

I decided it was time to upgrade to gold, which was going to add more features. So I paid the 54.00 (tax included) followed all the directions and now I cannot open Power director 6.

I can edit my photos but when I click to edit my videos nothing happens!

What are my options?

HELP!!!!

(YES i did send the problem to technical support but we know how that is )

What version of PD came with your PC = 6.5 (express version)?

You can open PhotoNow - correct?

What did you purchase as an upgrade from to?

Do you have other CyberLink Software and is PowerDirector part of that package?

I think you need to give all the information to Tech Support and wait - I think you've made a wrong upgrade purchase.

i believe so too.

Also I thought (incorrectly) that if I uninstalled the v6 of power director I could re install in by finding a copy on the offical website. I was terribly wrong

So I downloaded your latest version (version 7) and now the clock is ticking on my 30 day trail. It would be nice if they gave me credit for the upgrade and I could apply it to version 7 since my version 6 is no longer.

What I expect is for a refund to be offered ESPECIALLY when you tell them of your difficulties and what you intend - to buy the full version. This has to be sorted by Tech Support/Customer Support.

well your expectations are A LOT higher than mine

They basically told me I'm s.o.l. (sh*t outta luck) They said I have to purchase version 7 to unlock it, without so much as a discount.

Basically I just GAVE cyberlink 54.00 and they want me to spend additional money to unlock version 7?

At this point what are my options? Can't anyone on this "official" forum help? I mean not even a discount on the NEW software? What? Not even a download to the old version 6? So I can at LEAST TRY my upgrade? Please don't tell me I'd have to buy ANOTHER copy of version 6?

Send me your Order Number, email address and name.

You might want to give me the support reference numbers as well.

I will pass the details to the Head of Customer Support at CyberLink to investigate.

In your PM, please, in as few as word as possible explain the situation.

Please add this url to your PM: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/5675.page

Wow What a way to turn a frown upside down

Just received an email saying they (cyberlink) are processing a REFUND
in the amount of the software upgrade!

When I actually receive the refund, I will purchase the upgraded v7.

Special thank you to Dafydd, who took the time to personally see this problem resolved. You are the reason this has been a success.
