All users beware, when I updated to this version I lost all blu-ray playback. The configuration options for audio were grayed out and not selectable. I managed to reinstall to the previous version and everything was ok so clearly and issue with the patch. Good work Cyberlink!

Same here: Blu-ray codecs seem to be missing (only SP codec available in the vmcd utility, while I had SP/BD codec with previous version).
I just lost my entire evening on that...
Next time an upgrade comes out, I will wait a bit before trying it.

I got a response from support who advised me to manually uninstall, which was unnecessary as all the files were uninstalled correctly anyway.

They provided a download link for a full version of this patch and surprise surprise, same problem.

Once again, back to 2217a.

Unbelievably when I went back to support about this, their solution was identical to before, except with a download link to version 2021. They are honestly asking me to roll back 3 or 4 versions earlier than the working one I have rather than address the issue.

Absolutely un-bloody-believeable!!!!!!

This more like it, if they had said that in the first place.....

'In response to your concern we have reported the issue with 2521 build to the product development team and they are working on to resolve that very soon.

As soon as we resolve the issue with the new build, we will post that on the website. '

Cyberlink. You have a good product however as a software developer you need 2 do two things.
1) The releases are beta quality. They need much more testing.
2) Get infront of the ball. Acquire these bluray discs b4 they hit the market and bring out the fixes b4 the blurays. Both you and the customer have a vested interest here.

I ran into the same issue today.
Without fully reading the forum I posted this thread to the forum:
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/5634.page

Thanks Dave for pointing out the existing thread on the same topic.

With this I'm hoping to link the issues for readers (and Cyberlink...) convenience.

Today I posted another issue related to the builds quality as well:
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/5635.page
Support already confirmed this problem, so the latest builds are not only broken from one point of view.

It is fair to say that unit testing and QA are completely alien concepts to Cyberlink who just release this junk with fundamental issues like blu-ray playback not working.

This isn't the first time and they still don't learn. It is not even as if they are under any pressure to get them out, like say the GTAIV patch.

This is a simple upgrade to improve compatibility and they STILL can't get it right!!!

Are they actually telling us that they have tried to install this thing on Vista 64bit(my OS) and it worked perfectly for them?

skcolloB!

There is nothing unusual about my Vista config, it is up to date but that is it.

The sad thing is we are stuck with 3 blu-ray suppliers, each who just can't seem to get this right despite charging a fortune for their software.

I for one am sick of being a beta tester for a software supplier who still cannot provide a definitive solution for blu-ray playback after a couple of years, and 2 versions, of their flagship software. Both of which I have had to fork out for and I STILL need a free 3rd party app to get them to play at 24hz, and in sync.

I mean how hard can it be!! These guys are supposed to be specialists in their field and they just come across as amatuers, coding from their bedrooms!!!!!

Jeesh! This started three days ago? Why did they leave the patch up? I just got it last night and now I also can't play BD. Not only did they not fix it ... they left the broken version up so more people could get bent over. They need to post a link to the 2217 version. FUMING!

Hello Guys,

Could you post your BD titles and your system info (OS,GPU, Driver...)?
It will help CyberLink to fix the problem.
Or you can post the CSID if you contacted CyberLink Support.

This is exactly what the problem is, it isn't hardware config, or drivers, it is simply bad codecs from Cyberlink.

Well it is finally off the download site. The best admission that, yes our software wasn't actually tested before we released it, we just go on blind faith.

I just bought the download version last night and it was the latest version. Would not work at all! I had to download a previous version from a torrent site. Absolutely ridiculous. I have asked for my money back.

Support issue I raised with the new patch

"Ok, I managed to install the patch. However...in order for it work it MUST be run as Administrator which it did not used to need. However as soon as you try running without administrator it will never work again. If you try running as administrator again it has the same problems with the Codec and you need to re-install. So I got it working, however the problems with audio sync are 10x worse. A previous blu-ray, Mamma Mia, used to have bad audio sync problems at 24HZ, but with this update it now starts in the wrong language and flips between them all while playing until it settles on the correct one, it started in french, then another then english. When it finally settled on english it was approx 3 seconds out of sync. I have reverted to 2217 again as these patches are just making this product worse."
