Hello fellow PD users,

I am using PD 7.0 Ultra with AVCHD files recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1 from my Sony camcorder. After recently updating my product with the latest patch "build 2429a", I am now getting a pop-up error message that says Dolby Digital 5.1 is not supported in my current version and that I need to upgrade my product. When I click on the link provided by the pop-up it says server error or something like that. This was not the case before this update. According to the features and specifications for this product, Dolby Digital 5.1 is supported. Plus, what upgrade is there? I thought Ultra was the highest you can get? Anybody have this happening to them? I also sent an inquiry to technical support to see what they would say.

Hi Angel,

At what point in your project are you getting the error message, PD7 build 2429a supports Dolby Digital 5.1 when creating an AVC.MPEG4 file or MPEG2 file

Hi Robert,

I get the error the moment I import either an AVC.MPEG4 file or MPEG2 file. To double check this issue. I uninstalled PD 7 and reinstalled it with the original install file I downloaded from Cyberlink. Which does not contain the build 2429a patch. Sure enough it works with no issues. That is the workaround I am using at the moment.

hi Angel,

To be honest I have not tried importing files recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1.

The program is supposed to support it, so it's possible that you have found a bug, you need other PD7 users to confirm the issue.

Send in a report to Technical support

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your help. I have already submitted a report to technical support. Hopefully they will have some sort of answer.

Hi Angel,

I can confirm that I have no problem importing AVCHD or Mpeg2 files with 5.1 DD audio.

I also do not have a problem importing AVCHD files with DD 5.1

Are you sure your patch file is for the Ultra version? (not sure if they are different or not), I might try re-downloading the patch anyway...

Hello fellow members,

I have resolved my problem! I first started by reinstalling the whole program from the original file I received from cyberlink when purchased online. I think it was ver 2227c. I tested the importing and it worked fine. I then went ahead and downloaded the latest patch which is ver 2429a and installed it. Previously, this is the patch that created the problems for me but, all importing of DD 5.1 files seem to be working now.

The only difference between this install and my initial install, is that Cyberlink had released a patch between these 2 versions. Not sure what version that was. I installed that patch when the program notified me that a new patch was available. I had also downloaded some themes from cyberlink and installed those. So ver 2429a had not been applied to a vanilla ver 2227c, it had been applied to whatever version they released in the middle plus my installation of additional themes. I am thinking something didn't patch so smoothly between these two versions. Eitherway, I will let technical support know of my findings and I would like to thank all of you for providing feedback. Thanks!

** PS: Keyan, thanks for the suggestion, I had already tried reapplying the patch twice with a fresh download from cyberlink. It made no difference.
