Problems capturing with PD7

I have a tape with HDV1080i and DV SP formats on it. I guess I touched the button by accident from time to time.

Anyways, the caputre works fine with HDV, but once it switches to DV SP an error message pops up and it stops. And I can't capture the DV SP parts.

I get this message: see attached image

So I am stuck. Please help!

Please check your camera specifications/limitations of mixing two video types onto the same tape.

This not a PowerDirector issue. This is a camera user issue

And what settings would that be? The tape plays fine on the camera.,,which it should since everything was shot with the camera.

I went to a friend who had Adobe Elements 7 and it captured everything no problems without having to do anything to the camera. As did Avid Media Composer.

So with that in mind it seems logical it has to be some setting in PD7 I need to change. Right?

It looks to me like PD7 is expecting only one kind of video format, and when that changes mid-stream it is unable to handle it and panics because it is not what it expects.

I doubt there is a setting you can change to fix it, it sounds like an underlying software issue to me.

Yeah it 100% has to be PD7.

My camera is set on auto on HDV/DV. But I then went and switched it to DV and it captured the DV SP just fine.

Only problem is I know have to stop, unplugg the camera, change the setting, replugg and capture.

I hope this is something that will be fixed/patched.
I kinda feel ripped off since I spent my cash on PD7. I didn't think that something like this would be such a problem since pretty much all HDV cameras have a HDV/DV switch option.
