Forum posts can be hard to read when users use Reply without editing the quotes to highlight something. This can create large nested loops of unnecessary quotes to create formatting issues in the threads of a post. See this example: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/52353.page and this one: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/51353.page .

I get a Cyberlink.com is not responding on the last one above. Contributors and new users alike need to stop using Reply to create unnecessary quotes and long nested quotes in a post. This forums is slow enough as is.

Let us know if you agree or disagree with this.

I've been using Reply simply because it's the most obvious button. I didn't notice "Reply to this topic" until you pointed out. And even then, I had to look twice.

So maybe the forum master should change the button layout?

I agree absolutely.

p.s. - Yes in this case I did "quote" smile. Perhaps things would be clearer if the "Reply" button text was "Quote" to make it more obvious.

The new forum does cause this confusion. I actually brought this up last year about renaming the Reply button to Quote like in the old forum in this post: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/50309.page .

Maybe it will get fixed in the future. In the meantime we can work around it.
