The 'green line' indicates that shadow files have been created for editing high definition files. These are needed for slower machines. I don't have a 4k camcorder, but I'm sure most computers would need shadow files for those.

If the green line is just above your timeline it indicates the video file is pre-rendering and is indicative of a graphics driver issue.

If the green "lines" are actually icons placed upon a corner of each video file thumbnail in the library then that is showing shadow/proxy files have been generated, but the icons start as yellow and turn green when the proxy is completed generating.

My belief is the former, not the latter. Graphics driver issue. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

I should probably elaborate.
You likely need to update your graphics driver. Can you please tell us what card you are using, and what the driver version is?

If you are unaware, then perhaps you can follow this DxDiag link, scroll down and find "DxDiag.txt" instructions. The DxDiag file attached here will allow other members to see your hardware/driver information, nothing else.
Good luck, but it's easy!

I imagine the render bar is slowing things down, or at the very least distracting. If you want to try and make it go away please provide the info asked for and we will see what can be done. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
