Should I upgrade my just purchased power dvd?

I just purchased it and the version shown is 8.0.2430.50. I see there is an update 2217a in the upgrade download. Since 2217 is smaller than 2430, I am not sure if I should install this latest update. Please advice.

Hi Dienyu,

You have probably purchased the latest version of Power DVD and at this stage an update patch has not been released, this seems to be a quite common occurrence.

So, do not download or install the 2217 patch

However, if I don't install the patch, I can't watch blue-ray iso mounted through virtual clone drive. Why does the latest version do less than the previous version?

Please investigate in detail. If it ain't broke, you might prefer not to fix it.

I downloaded the patch and lost my powerDVD! I confused Deluxe and Ultra patches. PowerDVD started throwing errors and would not start. 126 minutes later I am still struggling reading this forum, writing to support, downloading, activating, googline for errors, etc.
