Rendered Audio pops and clicks even when no audio edits have occurred [SOLVED]

Hello everyone, I've been having a issue with my audio output. It happened on PD 14 as well but rarely, and nearly all editeded videos on PD15.
It does not matter if no audio and video edits have happened, as in, SVART, it doesn't matter if I edited audio, or edited just video or edited both.

Problem happens on outputted videos on my desktop computer running windows 7 with latest patches and updates, or either of my laptops. One is a underpowered Pentium quad core with windows 8 and the other is a i7 dual core with windows 10.

All PD15 patches installed, have reinstalled programs, tried PD14. Doesn't seem to matter.

Here are samples: (Popping happens continously and randomly throughout the videos)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmANwok1Fss at the 17 second mark

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEIHH73k53c at 15 second mark.

No reason to post 20-30 videos showing the same thing.

First video is one I put together while working on a closing credits sample, uses a MP3 for the audio.

Second one is just a vblog update, only edited for color corrections and sharpness. Even if I don't edit at all, and just re-render/re-process the videos I get the pop and click.

Audio issues are not present in original footage.
Cameras used:
Sony FDR-AX53
my old Sony FDR-AX33
Dashcam
El-Cheapo Action Cam
iPhones 6s, 5s, and 4s.
Sony PJR380 Projector Camcorder

Resolution does not matter. If I re-render the video multiple times, each time the pops and skips will be in different places. never the same twice. I occasionally can get a clean copy after rerendering 20-30 times. Shadow files on or off, doesn't matter.

Antivirus on/off doesn't matter. using the computer while rendering or not doesn't matter.

Laptop with the i7 is used for editing only. It is basically clean wiped, no "extras" accept what is used for editing. I rarely connect it to the internet accept for uploading to YouTube. so no antivirus, or anything that could interfear. When processing I do not use the computer.

I need ideas or help! With each version of Power Director, we get some nice new features, but then new bugs crop up. Getting just about ready to jump ship to a different editor because of this, but I really like PD.

P.S. Did my best to search for solution, bext I can find is someone else having clicks and pops between tracks or split videos/audio. i am not having that specific issue, doesn't matter if splits or not.

Hi,

No help exactly, but I recall there is a lot of stuff about random pops, clicks and cracks with lots of media based software. Multiple solutions are promoted but given your differing systems finding a common culprit might be difficult. I'm not sure that swapping to another editor will solve it but this sort of issue seems very difficult to track down.

I came across this in my old resources, sorry it's so old - but it does show something of the difficulty in tracking down this issue.

More recently I had an issue of sound interference that transferred to my rendered videos caused by having my rode videomic pro (used or not, on or off) plugged in to the front jack of my system. When I plugged it into a rear jack, direct off the mobo, no interference!

Maybe others might have something more?

Cheers

I would try converting the MP3 Audio files to WAV and see if that eliminates the clicks and pops.

PowerDirector will sometime have audio drop out at the junction of two video/audio clips. Usually that goes away when you produce the project. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Done that. No difference. Like I said, doesn't matter what the source is, with edits, without edits, with junction of two clips of any type or not. http://YouTube.com/KmanAuto

I'm done with PowerDirector. So many ruined videos from this. Long time customer, will need to call it quits. http://YouTube.com/KmanAuto

Resurrecting one of my very old posts. I did find a solution. And this applies to PD15 and PD16 (I don't have nor need 17's features yet).

When I export as an mp4 for the container, youtube processes the video and the audio skips and crackles. When I export using a MKV container, youtube processes properly and has no audio issues at all. I have tried all other settings and functions, and this was the ONLY thing that fixed it.

A couple things. First, you can go back and edit your first post on this thread and add the word SOLVED somewhere in the tile. You can also mark you own answer as the solution by clicking on this item below it:

Second, if you wanted anyone else to see if they could replicate and solve the issue, you could pack one of your projects and save that to a cloud folder, then share the link to it. Of the 2 YT sample vids you linked to in your original post, one is no longer available and the second one has a slight dropout at 15 sec, but I don't hear any unusual noises. Maybe it's YT's processing algorithm that's changed?
