Moving and changing the effect that goes with text
[Post New]
Hello everyone

Been using Powerdirector 15 for 3 weeks, have found the forum mandatory to getting anywhere, thankyou.

I am wanting to change the effect properties that goes along with a titles overlay. Im specifically using 'wedding secrets' presently

So ive edited the text and moved it and done what i want to do to it. The sparkles didnt move along with it however and i cant seem to click on a box to drag it over inline with thje text. I have selected the effect bar underneath the text bar (im not sure if thats the right terminology but the bars under the preview)

To the left i see a range of options. If i wanted to change the color or opacity how does one do that?

Thanks in advance.

Although you can change the text position in Wedding Secrets you cant change the effect position. However, if I could make a suggestion that may work for you.

Forget the Wedding Secrets text template and try the following:

In the text room drag the "default" text template down to the timeline, highlight it, and click on "modify". In the window that opens change the default text to "AR GINA" (as per wedding secrets"). Then click on "motion" at the top of the left hand panel and select "starting motion" here you can use something like "double vision". Now set your text to where you want it and then size and colour it as required. Save the above by using "save as" and leave the title designer.

Now, when you are back to the timeline, go to the particle room and click on a template called "Pixie Dust",right click on it and select "modify particle". Here you can remove the bits of particle that you dont need and get it working how you want it. When you are happy, use "save as" to give you template a name.

When that is done, go back to the text room and select the text template that you made earlier (search for the name you saved as), drag it to the timeline and click on "modify" At the top of the Text Designer is an insert particle sign, click on it and import the particle template that you have just made. When you are happy with what you have, use "save as" to create your template and give it a name.

Your creation should be available in the text room by the name you have just given it. - I hope it is.

Good luck

Robert

Robert -

Excellent explanation!

Now you can say "I helped Steven Spielberg with his video editing"

Cheers - Tony
