Neil, double-layer DVDs can hold 8.5GB of data.
PowerDirector 8 is no longer sold, it is pointless to bring this up post after post, you can PM members with that information if it is that urgent to you. See PM from me to you!
Why can't Smartfit be used with a double-layer DVD?
Hi
I try to burn it to standrd 4.7DVD (not double-layer DVD) - it seam to be not easy as 1 2 3.
Is there any differnt way or format I can decode it for DVD format ?
I was guessing at the DVD DL capacity, I thought it might've been higher than what you've shown. As for Smart-Fit, have you tried it with a dual-Layer disc, Barry? If I ever have the need to store a video on a DL disc, I'd like to know if Smart-Fit will work, for future reference. And yes, PD8 is no longer sold in places like Amazon, but there may be some second-hand shops that have some old superceded software in stock. Our OP writer wanted to get his/her file size down to such that he/she could get it on to a DVD(initially wanted it on single layer) but his/her final file size is still to large, even for Dual-Layer, and even Smart-Fit would be hard-put to shoe-horn an 8.7Gb file into 8.5 Gb. A third render may bring the file size down some more but image quality may suffer. Rata27, if you're prepared to risk that third render, you may squeeze your video onto a dual-layer disc, but again, you'll be possibly sacrificing image quality.
