Can't read DVD's

I'm new and am running PD 7 trial and can't get a burned DVD to play on my home DVD player. I'm burning to DVD+R which the player supports. My computer reads and plays it fine. I'm trying several other programs out and the DVD's that I burn with them play in the home player.

Any ideas will be appreciated - Thanks Todd

Todd,

There are two other postings talking about this same issue.
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/4388.page#16829

and
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/4777.page

The second one describes the fix that worked for me.

Good luck.

Work arounds aside, it's still really a problem with the DVD player itself.

There's this Philips DVD player at Walmart for $54 (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=1005062 that has:
-HDMI
-1080P upscaling
-Progressive Scanning
-Divx Ultra
-Plays anything, no compatability problems
-Front USB Port

You can drop a Video folder (VIDEO_TS) on a thumb drive and stick it in that front USB port and and play it like the real DVD. I can't tell you how handy it is to field test a new video on the TV without having to burn a disk first.

The only drawback to the unit is it takes it a very long time to start playing a disk or to eject a disk. I have no idea why. To me it's not a major deal though.

Hey Walker,

Thanks for the info...sounds like a good idea. It would be nice to have something that just works when you want it to. I have over 100 VHS and DV tapes I want to get copied and burned for backup and I'm trial test 3 different programs plus PD7. Good and not so good with all of them.

Have A Good One !
