I downloaded the trial because I wanted to try the editor out and see if it did what I wanted and with minimal bugs and issues on my pc. However it is so limited that I can't do anything! I can't import video. I have to use your videos which are specially encoded to work just right with your software. I can't export in the file format I want to use. I have to use .avi which I haven't used in years! I will never use .avi again! No matter what I select in the software I get told I need to buy the software! How am I supposed to know if I wanna buy it if you won't let me use it?!!! I own the mobile version which I love but windows isn't always as stable as android(Even if Android isn't perfect either). The mobile version allowed me to understand what was to be expected in the full version so I bought it. This gives me no clue! Also youtube videos showing feature will not let me get a feel for how my machine will handle the softwares possible individual issues. I don't expect everything for free I just would like a proper trial. Thanks.

Greetings Failrunner, welcome to the forum. Just to be clear, we are volunteers and very few of us have official ties to Cyberlink. However, you can buy the full version and there is a money-back guarantee. It might be helpful to the members here to give us a dxdiag file attached, of your intended machine to use PD with and we can look for weak spots in your hardware.

To Generate the DxDiag.txt FileClick the Windows start button and then type "DxDiag" on your keyboard.Click on DxDiag.exe in the start menu or search area to open the program.Once the tool is open, click "Save All Information". Name your file and then save it in a location on your computer that's easy to find, like your desktop. Attach this file to in your post or reply. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
Nvidia GTX 960(4GB)/16GB DDR3/
Canon Vixia HV30/HF-M40/HF-M41/HF-G20/Olympus E-PL5.
Tape capture using 6 VCR, TBC-1000, Elite BVP4+, Sony D8 camcorder with TBC.

I thought about that after posting. I get to feel like an idiot I guess. Lol. Well hello I'm Ed and apparently I forgot how to introduce myself and not be a rude idiot when something annoys me. Anyways thanks for your help and being polite when I was not. Anyways I don't feel comfortable dolling out my money like that because i've had some problems with that in the past. Thanks for your help though.

CyberLink offers a 30 day money back guarantee on its products purchased from the CyberLink online store.
From my anecdotal experience with this policy I believe Cyberlink to be reliable on this issue, opinion.
Support FAQ Anyway, good luck with your pursuit of video editing, wherever it may lead.

Failrunner,

For whatever it's worth, I bought an upgrade from PD12 to PD14. After installing it, I realized I'd rather have the full installation, not just the download. I requested a refund and it was made without any questions...credited right back to my credit card. Be sure you request a refund within the 30 days, however, as the financial transactions are handled by a third party. Once the 30 days has passed, Cyberlink cannot generate a refund. Regards,
Dan

There is a page somewhare about the system requirements for PD .... so... maybe a google of that will show what you need to know.

And like Barry and Dan have said... do the return within the 30 days(if you don't get what you expected) and you should have no trouble.
