Hello Everyone,

I'm new to PowerDirector and just bought Powerdirect 15 just to edit 360 video.

I've gone through all of the beginner tutorials. I know this is a loaded question but to those of you with 3d video editing experience is there any "things I wish I knew before editing 360 video in PD15" advice?

I realize this is new technology but if I can learn form others to avoid pitfalls I'd be most appreciative.

I'm assuming many of the advanced tutorials are specific to non-360 standard video. Since I only have interest in 360 video I'd like to focus soley on that aspect of Power director (or other features that can be used in 3d).

Thus far I know how to import, edit, cut, compress, add titles, and PIP. I've learned how to load both 360 video from multiple vidoes I've taken and also view and edit pictures in PD15 by converting to .mov.

Not much else thus far. Kind of don't know what to do next.

Hi camhops360.; welcome. Tell us a little more about what you need to do with the editing function of Power Director.

What 360 camcorder do you have? Do you have the video on your computer or just on your camcorder so far? Have you loaded the unedited video on a sharing site like YouTube? If so, how does it look? If you don't mind sharing, please give us the link to it. .
.

Steve: Thank you for such a quick and kind response.

I have 2 360cameras. I purchased an Elephone 3d camera back in August. I also just purchased an LG360 this week.

The Elephone seems to be very buggy and inconsistent (hardware and app). So I'm hoping LG360 will perform much more reliabily.

At this point I'd like to use it for personal use. Recording family events and maybe parties. I also purchased a drone and plan to do drone footage. I've already uploaded a youtube video in full 360. see below

Looks like you have a good start. I have the same question, what editing do you want to do. Just cut out some bad spots, add titles or do you want to do more complex editing?

I had the LG 360 but I gave it away for reasons other then performance. Be careful with the size of the videos; they are large.

Did you see this (link) .

Wow very cool video!

Well I took a few photos with the LG360 and WOW the quality compared to my Elephone 360 is exponentially better!

The Windows based software, however, seems extremely slow compared to the other software I've used from Elephone. Stiching a 12 minute video looks like it will take an hour. Granted, the resolution is lower but I wasn't expecting stitching to take so long.

As soon as it's done stiching I'll load into Power director and try some more edits
