Something I wish would be added is the ability to bulk unlink audio and bulk video speed adjustments. -Jason

As an ex Edius user...they withdrew the consumer version....my main wish is to improve the clip trimming process to improve workflow. Click the clip in the media list to show it in the preview and trim there before inserting into timeline.

As for the bulk unlink audio this was available in powerdirector 13 and for some stupid reason it was removed in 14 and I guess it hasn't been brought back in 15 eventhough I made a topic about it... so it seems cyberlink doesn't really listen/read wish lists but best of lucks! 4790K / Asus Z97i-Plus / 16gb (2-8gb)crucial @1866 Mhz / Samsung ssd 840 pro 250gb / Samsung 850 evo 250gb M.2 / 2-4tb HGST 7200rpm raid 1 / Nvidia GTX 1070 founders) / corsair RM650 PS / LG BD-RE

Permanent Tags/Folders in the Media Center. The ability to create permanent Tags/Folders that will help to organize my media files. Putting lots of mixed media (video, audio, photo, etc) in one folder and then having to sort through them is a real pain.

Also, would love to have the ability to add sequences within a project instead of having to create a new project file for each time I want a new sequence. TeeMan

The ability to choose multiple clips to apply fixes/enhances at the same time. The current "Apply to all" is too limiting. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Canon Vixia HV30/HF-M40/HF-M41/HF-G20/Olympus E-PL5.
Tape capture using 6 VCR, TBC-1000, Elite BVP4+, Sony D8 camcorder with TBC.

Err - not sure about that statement. PDR13, here, does not allow unlinking video/audio on multiple clips. Nor does 12 or any version I recall.

Doesn't mean it's not a good suggestion laughing

Agree, though copy/paste keyframe attributes is a pretty simple way of applying the same adjustments to multiple clips.

I don't doubt for a moment that your observations are correct, backed up by Dafydd in that thread. My assertion was only based on what I see here, right now, in PDR13 (build 3516).

When multiple clips are selected, the Link/Unlink options are greyed out & unavailable. Attached screenshot.

Perhaps I'm going about it differently.

If I recall correctly, the shortcut (hotkey) talked about in the thread should still work (even if feature grayed out when selected by right clicking). If you still have PD 13 you should give it a try and let me know. 4790K / Asus Z97i-Plus / 16gb (2-8gb)crucial @1866 Mhz / Samsung ssd 840 pro 250gb / Samsung 850 evo 250gb M.2 / 2-4tb HGST 7200rpm raid 1 / Nvidia GTX 1070 founders) / corsair RM650 PS / LG BD-RE

I had no intention of hijacking this thread, so I'm sorry if I temporarily have... but I have the feeling I must be missing something here.

Sorry I missed the point about custom hotkeys. I've checked that out now & found that PDR12, 13, 14 & 15 effectively function the same with multiple linking/unlinking.

In all versions, custom hotkeys can be set & muliple unlinking works. In no version have I been able to relink multiple clips. Here's a screen capture showing the same steps in PDR12 - 15...

I'm no tech expert (I'm the kinda guy who fixes things by wiping out hard drives and clean installs) but I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that the reason the unlinking works for you across all power directors, is because you have multiple powerdirectors installed in the same computer. I'm also thinking this wasn't a feature intended by cyberlink. It was more like a bug type feature that was later corrected. I don't think you are missing anything other than the notion that this unlinking method wasn't supposed to work in the first place.... I never tried linking back clips to be honest... but I bet it didn't work just like with you. Unlinking multiple clips no longer works for me in PD14 (I did a clean install when I upgraded)... and since Dafydd confirmed it I thought that was the way it was 'supposed' to be. I had to rethink the way I edit to get around this limitation. I wish cyberlink would focus more on this type of features that are more useful than vertical video editing for example. People who are caught recording vertically should be fined and face jail time after multiple offences. 4790K / Asus Z97i-Plus / 16gb (2-8gb)crucial @1866 Mhz / Samsung ssd 840 pro 250gb / Samsung 850 evo 250gb M.2 / 2-4tb HGST 7200rpm raid 1 / Nvidia GTX 1070 founders) / corsair RM650 PS / LG BD-RE

Haha! I'm not either. Agreed, it was probably an unintended feature.

On your other theory about it being a consquence of having multiple versions installed. No - on a PC, here, with only Director Suite 5 installed (i.e. only PDR15), I get the same thing shown in the screen capture. Multiple clips can be unlinked after setting up the custom hotkey.

I think this one will probably land in the "I guess we'll never know" basket.

Makes this a sticky??

I would like to see more control in the Produce custom Profile dialog box.

1 - choice for constant FPS and variable FPS
2 - Choice for constant CBR and variable VPR vs Avg ABR
3 - choice for changing GOP pattern
4 - would be nice to control i frame vs IDR frames this could make seeking the H.264 file easier and more responsive in the player
5 - MP4 does support 5.1 audio so why doesn't PD15? Even my home camcorder has 5.1, but I can't output to MP4 because PD doesn't support it. Intel i7 4770k, 16GB, GTX1060 3GB, Two 240GB SSD, 4TB HD, Sony HDR-TD20V 3D camcorder, Sony SLT-A65VK for still images, Windows 10 Pro, 64bit

Before we get too far, I think SOMEBODY should make this a "sticky".

Next, the ability to alter the volume level of the disc menu music. Is it re-e-e-a-a-al-l-y that difficult? HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
Nvidia GTX 960(4GB)/16GB DDR3/

Hello,

Yes Dan, thanks for commenting.

We know most users were not aware previously of the timeline for PowerDirector's software development cycle, so we are letting you know now. Planning for the next version is almost done, so having an open thread that users believe is for features that might get in the next version is not helpful.

Once the deadline passes, we will start a new thread for future versions. Note that PM/RD will monitor these threads on going and there is always a possibility that small changes/suggestions get incorporated sooner.

Cheers

Wish List for PD 16......

I am wishing you give us customers some updates with some simple improvements instead of charging $65-100+ every year for a new version that has minimal new features.

Sticky this....

Hi all,

I've been using PD for many years now and generally I find it to be a great product. Earlier this year I was given a copy of Magix Movie Edit Pro to review. Overall I found it to be harder to use than PD and some missed some features, but where it absolutly threashed PD was in titles and text overlays.

So I have a suggestion I hope can be fed back to the team, I'd really like to see the titles sections given a big overhaul. The current titles feel really old fashioned and amaturish compared to those I've tried in Movie Edit Pro, which are slick and modern so where I need titles I'm using Movie Edit Pro.

I did upgrade from 14 to 15 but honestly can't see any difference so far, the new features are rather specialist and so I'd hope the more mainstreme areas can get a bit of love for the next version. Mark
