Frame rate issue

I'm trying to import video from an lg 360 camera which films at 30fps and my default project setting is also at 30fps, but I'm guessing that there is a slight variance (maybe 29.97fps) for the project setting.

In any case, I used to get an error message about the frame rate and although it renders the project just fine, my video is nearly impossible to view while I'm editing as frames are dropped, etc. Another slight problem is that I'm also using another camera set to 30fps and it seems to have no problems but because frames are being dropped from my other video, the audio is also out of sync.

Is there a way to fix this or am I just stuck with the bad viewing options.

Thanks!

Sounds like the LG 360 creates some pretty large video files. What are you computer specs? __________________________________

I suppose the files can be large, but even a very short clip that isn't large has this problem. My computer is pretty basic; I have an i7 4770KCPU @ 3.50GHz, 16Gb Ram and 3Tb hard drive.

That should be good enough for a small video, I think. I have run demos of Sony Vegas on it with no problem, but I couldn't get the results I wanted with the 360 Video.

I can't remember the exact message that pops up because I ended up clicking the checkbox that stops the message from popping up, but it basically said that my frame rate is different from the project settings which will cause frame drop outs.

I have a similar issue. I have a Canon XF305 camcorder. When I have made a video I use a Canon XF Utility to move or copy the .MXF files to my computer. Then I use a BORESOFT MXF converter progam to create .mpg (mpeg-2) files of each of the clips. This has to be done first before I have something I may edit in power director. Once Power Director has imported the new .mpg files I use PD14 to merge all of the clips into one file and add any needed titles or effects. Then I save the newly constructed file back to the computer. PD14 imports the .mpg files OK but when adding a clip to the timeline I get this error: "Timeline frame rate conflict". It appears that the imported .mpg files are at 29.97 fps and PD is set to 30 fps creating a conflict. Once the project is completed the end product shows tearring or shearing of the video when the camera is moving, most likely due to the frame rate conflict. The comments on this subject do not give any confidence that this is a fixable problem. I don't think my PD14 program is automatically adjusting for this issue as mentioned elsewhere. Can anyone help?

NMHUCowboy - You will be better served to start a new topic, but it sounds to me like you may have a problem with interlaced video. In a new post attach a screen shot of the problem and we may be able to tell you more. __________________________________

Thanks for your reply. This may seem a dense question but how exactly do I start a new topic? It seemed a reply was the only way to get started and that was a little fuzzy. My first attempt to get on-board.
