Hi

Hope you can help... I'm doing a presentation on Cyber Security and would like to feature a few words of dialogue which are voiced by 'Anonymous'. I wondered if anyone knows what kind of effects are best and also the best method of capturing the voice (Do I have to buy a mic for the computer for instance?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

CyberMan.

Hello Cyber-GH-Man,

Welcome to the AudioDirector forum laughing

If you are recording the voice over yourself, you'd need a microphone of some description. That mgiht simply be a webcam, headset, smart phone, audio recorder or video camera if you don't have a dedicated microphone. That is the first step - to record an audio file.

The next suggestion I'd follow is to record the "anonymous" dialogue using a character voice that is distinctly different from your own, if a little character acting is within your range of skills.

Once you have the audio file saved in an appropriate format, there are a number of adjustments that can be made in ADR that will further disguise the voice. I'm not sure which version you are using. That makes a difference. Please indicate the versdion you're using.

Adjusting pitch, timbre, speed would be the basic adjustments needed. There are also VST plug-ins that would be useful for your purposes.
