RPavlis,
welcome to the Forum.
Congratulations on your purchase and let's see if we can get you started.
Please note that the TRIAL cannot be activated, you need the full program from a download.
Make sure you keep your email from Cyberlink, or at least copy your purchase information, and KEEP ALL THE DOWNLOADS for the future, as the links expire.
Close all other programs and get off of the internet. You might wish to shutoff anti-virus for the installation.
First un-install any PowerDirector trial software.
Click on the biggest download you received, it's sure to be the actual program exe.
Go through the process and watch for any dialogue boxes that open so you can answer them.
It is fairly basic to install, like any other program, THEN after it is complete and registered with a key code, install any other downloads from Cyberlink, they will be content packs of Titles, PIP objects, other media to enhance your program.
That is it, really, not too complicated at all.
Last, I might say that for the additional $10 at this time, the ULTIMATE version of PD is a great deal, you may rethink your purchase, it's your call, but you do get more goodies with it.
Any more questions? We are here for you.

If you bought the Ultra and decide you prefer the Ultimate for $10 more, there is a 30-day return period. I did that when I first purchased PD10 Ultra and decided Ultimate was a much better deal. Regards,
Dan

I got the Ultra installed, by running the Ultra exe - which is not the largest file.

Do you have to install the contentPack essential and Contentpacl premium separately? Or do they install with the Ultra exe?

I tried installing the audiodirector, but it seems to hang at 97%. I think it initiated the install of Quicktime - do you need to install quicktime?

You install all of the files you downloaded, Content pack have all of the "Goodies", Titles, Effects, ETC.

Quicktime is needed for Smart Sound.

I apologise for the incorrect ASSumption that the exe would be the largest download.

As for the addon downloads, they need to be installed individually. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

In windows if you right click on a short cut to a program, one of the choices is the run the Program as Administrator, that gives the program the permission to write files to the hard drive among many things.

Something that Powerdirector needs to be able to do. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Thanks Carl and Barry for the quick responses.

I hope the program is better than the installation process!

I would expect one install program. Anything less is not user friendly.

But more important it needs installation instructions. I got no information on how to proceed. I downloaded the help manual which contains no install info. The initial email I got after purchase should have had a clear link to instructions. It is important to get customers up and running quickly.

Setting to admin was not required. I probably have Windows set to always set admin when it starts.

It may be needed, if you are a normal user and not Administrator.

Normal User does not have Admin privileges.

If you are Administrator, then run as Admin is not necessary. All programs are then run as Admin. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.
