I am trying to d/l .jpg images from the camera on my drone. But all I get is black screens. All other .jpg images from other cameras seems to work OK. I have checked and my drone camera is set to capture images in .jpg format. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Bob

Hi Bob -

Before import, are you transferring the JPGs from the SD card to a folder on your PC? or are you importing them directly from the SD card?

If the latter, PDR will display black placeholders if the SD card is disconnected. Solution = transfer to PC first.

If it's nothing to do with that, can you give any other information?

Cheers - Tony

Thanks for getting back to me Tony. I tried both of your suggestions, but still get the black boxes. The videos from the drone (.mp4) work great. It's just the .jpg files. I'm 99.9% sure the camera is set up correctly. Bob

Doule click on one of the drone jpg on the hard drive. Let us know if you see a picture. If you do then drag it to to media library of PD14 and view it there.

tomasc, I did as you suggested. I double clicked a jpg in a file and it previewed in the window. I then drug it to PD but it showed up as a black box. Bob

I hope this helps. This is what I see when I double click the file. But when I drag it or upload it to PD14, the black box appears.

Bob -

I'm sure others will report the same thing, but your DJI JPG displays just fine here, in PDR14.

It's an odd issue & the solution will be easy - once we work out what the cause of the problem!

Could someone tell me the difference in these photos? One (12-35-25) works in PD14. The other (12-36-02) shows up as a black box. Call me confused! Bob

Hi Bob -

Yes - there's quite a difference.

12-36-02 was shot on a Canon Powershot A720 & it's 3264x2448. 12-35-25 has had its meta data stripped & it's only 640x480. Both photos display properly, here, in PDR & PhD.

Cheers - Tony

Longedge, That's exactly what I am doing. The sim card and the card reader are not connected to the computer. Bob

Bob -

I really have no idea what's stopping PDR displaying your higher resolution photos.

Try this. Attached is your DJI JPG resized. See if it imports and displays properly.

Cheers - Tony

Oh - and speaking of resizing... have you noticed that it takes your avatar a while to load on the forum pages? It's 4000x3000 & nearly 5MB.

If you use the resized one attached, it'll pop up instantly.

Cheers - Tony

Here is what I have found so far. If I take a photo (jpg) with my drone, it is stored on an sd card. If I ask PD14 to import the photo from the sd card, I get a black box. If I take the sd card and send the picture to a file and then try to import, I also get a black box.
BUT, if I upload the picture to Amazon Cloud, then from there, copy it to my desktop, the ask PD14 to import it from the desktop, IT WORKS!
Such a hassle! I don't know how to get it to import from the sd card or the file.
