ERROR CODE EA000006 QUESTION??

I keep getting this code when I try to make a DVD for one of my Projects. Im not sure why. It says something is not supported. The odd thing is that it made an AVI and a windows file but will not make the DVD. It gets to 92% everytime and then gives me this code. I wish I could see a live view if where its locking up. Maybe it has a corrupt picture of something. Im using powerdirectoer 12 on this computer.

I do have power director 14 on my newer computer. Wonder if I update the PD12 to the 14 if that would fix the issue?? Would I lose the current project if I update to 14?

Kind of frustrating.....

Please show us the screen capture of the error code.

Suggestion. Go to File/Pack Project Materials and pack your PDr12 project to a new folder location.
Place the contents on a USB portable device (memory key).
Transfer the folder to your new computer's hard drive
Open the pds file in the pack project with PDR14.

The error code, I don't recognise, maybe you've copied it down incorrectly. Check the contents of your project - perhaps an audio file is the issue.... such as the compression rate of an mp3. Could even be a problem with the disc drive.

Suggestion:
Check the Write to Folder option in Create Disc as this will help you somewhat.

Just guessing

That appears to be a good screenshot. You need to uncheck Save as disk image as none ever got created. You need to check Create a folder instead and then try to burn a disc again.

The Authoring is expected to fail at 92% again. This time you should have a folder to examine for evidence after it fails. Normally in the VIDEO_TS folder there should be 5 files named VTS_01_1.VOB thru VTS_01_5.VOB in your case. The first 4 will be 1 GB in size and the last one will be about 100+KB in size. Failing at 92% could mean that the first 3 above VOB files are created and a partial or none for the 4th one. Play the last successful one on vlc. That means that the corrupted or bad video on the timeline that caused this failure starts somewhere after this one.

I could just play say the last 10 minute of the timeline and see where it hangs or stops for a say 1 hour timeline or 20 min. for a 2 hour timeline.

Anyway you could just remove the last say 15% of your timeline video. Save the project using a different filename and create a folder. That would confirm that you have a corrupt file near the end of your timeline.

OK..So I unchecked save as disk image and checked create a folder.
This is where it gets interesting. now it goes to 99% complete then gives me the same error message. When I try to view the video using the video_ts files it says I do not have permission to view them.

so very close to completion.

I looked at all my files in the Video_TS files and its crazy because it plays all the way to the end with no errors but will not go passed 99% so it never starts the burning process.

crazy

There are only 6 days difference between the join dates. ANDREW is supplying all the responses for gonefishing. Maybe they are twin brothers living in the same house with access to the same pc.

EDIT: I see Dafydd B has responded while I was still typing. Thanks Dafydd B.

ANDREW – Try this: Create a folder only. Use either Power2Go or Imgburn to burn that folder to a DVD. Pass this along to your brother.

Let us know if this fixes the problem.
