You posted the integrated graphics of your CPU

Which was stated:

Radeon HD 7660D is an embedded GPU on the high-end Trinity CPUs A10-5700 and A10-5800K.

What is integrated graphics mean? <---click here

But you might was well dust off everything else

Quote: Also, how important is it to clean all the dust/debris off the video card? Mine is probably pretty dirty. Assuming I take it out and clean it, can I expect that to affect performance at all? I've heard the effect can be negligible.
Not only the Video card, but the whole computer. Dust is an enemy to the computer, dust can cause a computer to overheat and die.

Do not use a vacuum cleaner to suck the dusk, a Vacuum cleaner create enough static electricity to blow out the CPU and other sensitive components. Only use air to blow the dust. Air from a can or air compressor.

Ok, so now that I know I have an inferior 'integrated graphics' on my PC, my next question is, can I install a good, stand-alone card on my PC for improved performance? I have some photos I took of the inside of my PC, but I don't think I can paste them here for anyone to see. Any suggestions?

Did you read through the post to which I referred some time ago? It's HERE and it gives you a starting point for troubleshooting and in part B tells you how to post important information about your computer. That would be more useful than a photo of your computer.

p.s. - you can attach files by clicking on "Attachments" underneath the text entry field when you are posting.

You can attach files to the forum if you use the PostReply Button not the Quick Reply button.

PostReply gives a Blue Attachments Button below the Text box. You can attach up to three files per post. If you have more files just create a new post. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

I need help deciding which one to go with.

GeForce 8500GT/9800GT and above
GeForce GT/GTS/GTX 200/400/500/600/700/800/900 Series

Prices range from well under $100 to close to $700. My question is: at a certain point will it be overkill? I mean, all of the descriptions of those cards talk about how they relate to gaming, which I do not do. All I want it a graphics card that will give me good, fast preview rendering so I can edit faster.

Any thoughts?

If those are the only video cards available for your computer, you need a new computer.

You never posted a Diagnostic of your computer, so anything we say is just a big guess.

In case you missed the link that was provided for you:

Why would that mean that I need a new computer?

Very old Video Cards. Apparently your computer is too old for the more modern video cards.

PassMark Highend Video cards. I would bet, none of these would work in you computer.

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

A Diagnostic would tell us what your computer is and what parts it has, the diagnostic does not contain any personal information, other than the name of the computer.

Why not pull your horns in and get rid of the attitude. You have been asked repeatedly to provide dxdiag details of your computer but you keep going off at a tangent. Are you serious about solving whatever problem you have got or do you just want to argue?

Computers are complex with many different components. Any weakness in any one of the interdependant sub-systems that make up the computer can have serious knock on effects.

Adding a new component to an old machine is not a straightforward process and doing it can sometimes do more harm than good. Carl is quite right to point out that sometimes the best option is to replace a machine but that's a decision that only you can make and it really ought to be a decision based on a proper methodical assement of what you already have.

^ OP has a fairly modern A10 AMD APU (based on the GPU that he stated it's either the A10-5700 or A10-5800K), but not very powerful for video editing (APU's are more for office work).

Still it can be used and I already recomended him the video card that would match his computer, but then he came out from the blue with other generic "options", irrelevant (and managed to confuse Carl with those).

Sadly OP doesn't have a clue what he is looking at (no problem, we all learned this at some point). That's why is getting irritated (very easy?) when people tell him "stuff" and he cannot discern between that and reality.
